Brilliant 2023 calendar announced for Cadwell Park

31 January 2023

Cadwell Park's 2023 season is fully confirmed with a packed year of top drawer competition on the legendary circuit, fondly nicknamed the "Mini Nürburgring" due to its challenging combinations of corners and elevation changes. A superb range of two and four-wheel events will take place at the historic Lincolnshire track.

A Bank Holiday bash

The undisputed king of Cadwell Park events is the Bennetts British Superbike Championship (BSB) 'Party in the Park' on August Bank Holiday weekend (26-28). Three dramatic BSB races will headline the weekend with one on Sunday after qualifying and a Monday double-header all taking place on the eve of the end of season Showdown. Riders will be vying to get a march on their rivals as the title race heads towards the business end.

The event has a real festival feel, with many fans enjoying the full weekend and camping over at what it is one of the best BSB events every year

Four-wheel favourites

The smoke shows and stripped out action of the Motorsport UK Drift Pro and Time Attack categories will storm Cadwell on May Bank Monday during the return of Modified Live (1 May). The UK's most outrageous tuned cars will be showcased both on and off-track in a roaring event with hugely tight competition.

At the height of summer, the new for 2023 Cult Classics (13 August) will take over the venue, bringing four-wheel fans together to enjoy the best-loved roadgoing cars ever made. Racing will come from automotive favourites including Mazda MX-5s and Honda Civics with even more 'cult' cars on display around the venue.

Twice in 2023, the Lincolnshire circuit will be transformed for visits from the Circuit Rally Championship. Retro and modern rally cars will take on a transformed Cadwell Park with stages made up of on and off-track routes. The Alan Healy Memorial Cadwell Stages (2 April) will test crews in the early Spring while the Cadwell Park Stage Rally and Fireworks (19 November) will close the season with a bang with rallying going into the night with a superb fireworks display to end the year on a high.

Sidecar Revival Returns

A two-day bonanza of sidecar racing will head to Cadwell Park on 5/6 August, courtesy of the British Motorcycle Racing Club's (BMCRC) International Sidecar Revival. Dozens of three-wheeled machines will be in action across both days, at an event which is now firmly established as a season highlight.

Historic highlights

Take a step back in time at the Historic Wolds Trophy (5/6 May) for a springtime celebration of motorsport's golden era. From Classic Formula Ford to Historic Touring cars, a wide range of retro racers will be in action.

The Vintage Motorsport Festival (18 June) meanwhile will bring bombastic cars of the early 20th century to Lincolnshire for a full day of antique motor racing. Cars in action are among the oldest still in competition, with some vehicles dating back as far as the 1920s and beyond. The paddock will be open all day allowing visitors to get close to the hundreds of gorgeous rare vehicles.

For those who prefer historic racing on two wheels, there will be a pair of visits from the Vintage Motorcycle Club (13/14 May and 23/24 September) plus the annual return of the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club (3/4 June). These events offer a unique glimpse at machines from a bygone era being raced hard at a truly classic circuit.

Grassroots club racing set to entertain

Cadwell will host a full season of club racing with the BARC Midlands Sprint (25 March) kicking off the four-wheeled season, while the first motorcycle action comes from the No Limits Club Bike Championships (22/23 April).

Suzuki Live (15/16 July) will be a whole weekend in celebration of the stalwart Japanese manufacturer with track action exclusive to bikes from the famous marque. Retro and modern motorcycles of all ages will take to the track with demonstrations and appearances from special guests.

Ginetta's championships will return to Cadwell Park for the first time in over a decade for a full weekend of racing solely for the specialist manufacturer (22/23 July). The summertime event will include all three of Ginetta championships, including the Ginetta Juniors, GT Academy and GT Championship.

Additionally, most of the UK's top clubs will visit in 2023, including MotorSport Vision Racing (MSVR), the British Motorcycle Racing Club, NG Road Racing, the British Racing and Sports Car Club (BRSCC) and the 750 Motor Club.
